![]() Yet the real eyecatcher ofc is the gold chain with the huge embedded gemstones (sapphire or lapis lazuli maybe). The cape draped around his shoulders is pretty well-made with ample creases and blue highlights giving it a lifelike look. Going further down we can admire Ozzy’s well-toned body (w/o nipples sadly…), but first we’ll take a closer look at the cape… Also, the finish feels somewhat cheap (and the paint on his ahoge flaking off kinda proves my point). I do like the subtle, mostly olive-colored, highlights in his hair, but it still looks a little flat. His sidewards glance and the way the eyes are aligned in general don’t leave you with that many display options though (but well, not like you’re gonna display him on a rotating table I suppose).Īs for his hair sculpt… well, it’s decent, the seam on the top of his head also looks okay~ish, but the pointy ends of the strands at the back aren’t all that pointy or otherwise crisp. Ozymandias greets us with a haughty and regal expression and looks oh so very comfortable on his throne. It basically tells you to push him straight onto the throne instead of seating him from above (again damaging the paint in the process is quite easy).Īfter some testing, I feel like the best way to display him above eye-level so he can look down on you. The surface of the throne is rather rough and it’s a tight fit to begin with, so scraped off paint and paint transfers are a legitimate concern.ītw MH also included a sad little instruction sheet with this figure (I actually find it funny). What I’m not too keen on though are the seams and gaps where the different parts were put together as they’re just a tad too conspicuous.Īnother thing I want to emphasize here is that you should exert caution placing Ozymandias on his throne. ![]() MH did a really good job with the paint in particular and the crumbled away parts are definitely a nice addition. The blister is nothing too out of the ordinary with the throne being packed behind the figure.įresh out of the box we’re left with 2 parts: the throne and the main figure, though the cape (and subsequently also the head) can be detached.Īt first glance the throne looks really impressive with its differing shades of gold, the stone carvings and the blue decorations (they even feature a color gradient). It’s not terrible imo, but in general I think this is kind of tacky and unnecessary (even for a mighty sun king). Additionally, every side of the box (barring the bottom) has a picture of the figure on it. Large windows already allow a good look at the contents while the gold bricks reaching into and shaping them is a really nice touch. ⊙_ʘĪnyway, let’s see how he turned out shall we…įittingly and as expected the box has a mostly gold color-scheme with blue elements on the rims. But well, I still decided to give it a try, maybe they’d surprise me this time, right? And honestly, I like him too much and the prototype looked just too tempting not to cave (even with that insane price-tag). Even with the prototype based on an original illustration and his 3rd ascension attire (my favorite) looking great. ![]() Now I’ve got a bit of a history with MH figures and as such I wasn’t quite as excited when he got announced by them. Today I’ll be reviewing the divine pharaoh (and Rider class servant) ITEM #775830 Ozymandias from Fate/Grand Order brought to us by Megahouse.
